Snow White’s Poison Apple Mocktail
Try our spooky Snow White’s Poison Apple Mocktail! Served in a dramatic candy apple cup which is made with Belvoir Farm Blueberry and Blackcurrant Cordia, this Halloween treat is a non-alcoholic showstopper. For a spirited twist, simply add vodka. Fun, festive, and easy to make, it’s perfect for mixing up some wickedly good fun.
Ingredients
For the candy apple cups (4 cups)
| 4 | Large apples |
| 400g | Caster sugar |
| 30ml | Belvoir Farm Blueberry and Blackcurrant Cordial |
| 4 tbsp | Maple syrup |
| 150ml | Water |
| 1 tsp | White vinegar |
For the Poison Apple Mocktail (1 drink)
| 150ml (adjust based on apple size) | Belvoir Farm Sparkling Pink Apple |
| 15ml | Belvoir Farm Ginger Cordial |
| 1 tsp | Maple syrup |
| A squeeze | Fresh lime |
| Small piece | Fresh ginger |
| 1 | Star anise (to garnish) |
| 1 | Cinnamon stick (to garnish) |
| 1 shot | Vodka (to make it a cocktail) |
Method
To Make
- First make your candy apple cups by, cutting the top off the apples and hollow out the middle.
- In a large saucepan, combine the sugar, Belvoir Blueberry and Blackcurrant Cordial, and 100ml of water. Heat until the sugar dissolves, swirling the pan gently.
- Add the maple syrup and white vinegar and simmer until the mixture reaches 150°C (hard crack stage). If you don’t have a thermometer, drop a bit of toffee into cold water, it should harden and become brittle.
- Turn off the heat and dip each apple into the toffee, then place the apples on baking parchment to cool.
- Once they’ve cooled, make your Poison Apple Mocktail by adding Belvoir Ginger Cordial, maple syrup to your candy apple.
- Top up with Belvoir Farm Sparkling Pink Apple.
- Add a squeeze of fresh lime and grated ginger and stir.
- Garnish with star anise and a cinnamon stick.
